Theories of ICT System Implementation and Adoption Why Theory?
The Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) In 1980, Ajzen and Fishbein introduced The Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) Behavioral intent of a person determine his performance of a particular behaviour. This behavioural intent is identified by two things, attitude and the subjective norms within which a person operates, i.e. the cultural norms of the organization. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) Davis et al. (1989) developed the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), based on the Theory of Reasoned Action. TRA is general whereas TAM relates to technology. --Based on TAM model , two variables determine attitude.
TAM is applied in various fields and widely used by the researchers in order to make a better understanding of adoption and use of technology Diffusion of Innovations Everett M. Rogers "Diffusion of Innovations (2003) is the process by which an innovation is communicated through certain channels over time among the members of a social system." References
